For church members
For church members: how FlockConnect reaches you
If your church uses FlockConnect, here is the first thing to know: you never need an account, a password, or an app. FlockConnect is the tool your church's pastors and care team use to look after people well, and everything that reaches you arrives as an email or text with a secure link that just works in your browser. This page explains the handful of things you might receive, what each one does, and the controls that stay in your hands.
Do I need to sign up for anything?
No. Members never log in to FlockConnect and never create accounts. When your church needs something from you, a short check-in, a booking, your preferences, the message carries a personal secure link, and the link itself is the access. Nothing to remember, nothing to install.
Each link is personal to you, made for one purpose, and built to expire, so an old link sitting in an inbox stops working instead of becoming a risk.
- No account, no password, no app: secure personal links do everything a member needs.
- Check-ins arrive by email first; at most one text reminder may follow, and only with your consent.
- A booking link lets you pick a time with a pastor without creating anything.
- The preferences link at the bottom of any church email opens your own controls, including unsubscribe and language.
- Texting is controlled from your own phone: STOP to opt out, START to resume.
- Messages never carry pastoral notes or private care details, and your information is never sold.
What might my church send me?
A check-in, which your church may call an assessment: a few simple questions sent by email with a secure link, answered in your browser in a minute or two. If one sits unfinished, at most one text reminder may follow, and only if you have said yes to texts.
A booking link, when a pastor offers time to meet: pick a slot that works and the details land on both calendars. And ordinary church email, each one carrying its own preferences link at the bottom.
What controls do I have?
The link labeled Email preferences / unsubscribe at the bottom of any church email opens your own preferences page, no login needed. There you can switch off categories of email, stop everything with one master switch, turn off form reminders, and choose English or Spanish.
Texts have their own control that only you can operate: reply STOP to any text to opt out, START to resume, HELP for help. Unsubscribing from FlockConnect email never cuts you off from your church itself; they can always reach you the ordinary ways.
What does my church write down about me?
Your church keeps its records of your contact details and its pastoral care, and FlockConnect's job is keeping those records safe: access inside the church is scoped by role, pastoral notes carry per-note visibility, and your information is never sold and never used for advertising.
The messages you receive never carry pastoral notes or private care details; a secure link and plain wording is all that travels. If you want to see, correct, or remove your information, ask your church directly, since the records are theirs; FlockConnect helps them honor the request. Anything else, write to support@flockconnect.com and a real person will answer.
